Meet the Dev Team, see what they've been up to this week, and share with a friend

Let's dive in, shall we?

Our dev team at Voices Heard Media is created from the stuff champions are made of.  Truly, greatness.

Mark Baird, our senior software developer, currently heads up the dev team with silent poise, "doing lots of Java and JavaScript coding," as he puts it, and does DBA and Sysadmin work. Baird is also a large fan of Android and wants to be the owner of the world's largest pug rescue organization when he grows up.

Eric Cochran, an avid Star Wars fan and PC lover, works on color schemes, Facebook integration and more. He's been with the team since November 2008.

Paul Giblock is truly an EventBox maven. This foodie can bake a mean cheesecake, transform EventBoxes into engagement-machines, and knows the company inside and out since he joined in 2008.

Christian Ferrer, the newest addition to the dev team, adds a lot of heart and soul into our products and back-end admin system. Ferrer joined the team ready to run.

This week, the team provided our customers (and their coworkers) with some much-needed improvements.

Our reporting is now much more extensive. Before, users couldn't view or print data that's collected during contests and sweepstakes.  Now, this data is viewable, exportable as Excel or CSV, AND printable.

  • Contests: Data includes number of votes, and submissions are ranked by vote count.
  • Sweepstakes:  Data is organized by email addresses in alphabetical order. Also includes opt in/out fields.

Sweepstakes popup interacts with users after they submit or engage with the Eventbox. It's now configurable in the back-end admin system so that you can add images, a link, or whatever appropriate content you'd like to add.

Customers can now require users to give them their full address for contests. It sounds intense at first, but once you think about it, this does make perfect sense when prizes are involved, say, with a contest or sweepstakes.  Of course, the information users provide would be completely confidential and not used for any other purpose as specified in our privacy policy, so no worries there — we don't believe in spam (unless you sign up for it).
